Project #1: The Card Box

 1. Pick your frames. I could not find 8 x 10 frames that I really loved so I went with frames that had 2 5 x 7 pictures. (Bailey is excellent at examining picture frames)

2. Take the glass out of all four sides and put it somewhere safe.

3. My FI liked the idea of a lazy susan but did not want to buy a round one from a store. His solution? He found the hardware to make his own. Our box will turn but we are not restricted by the round lazy susan. I have read that a number of knotties find the lazy susan aspect to be a PITA. I highly recommend buying the hardware and making your own.

4. L-brakcets are your friend. I know other knotties have used glue but we found that using L-brackets made a strong structure. BUT before you go screwing your L-brackets in, use a drill to make some pilot holes. This will prevent your frames from splitting when you drill. (Be sure your L-brackets line up and be prepared to make some mistakes. *See my pictures*)

5. Make a tight fitting bottom and put it in place before securing your 4th frame. You will need additional L-brackets to keep this in place. We will have used a total of 16 once all is said and done.

6. Put someone in charge of keeping all your tools safe. (You can hire Bella for a small fee)

7. Adhere your final side and screw on your "lazy susan" to the bottom.

8. Admire the job that's ALMOST finished. I need to choose a fabric so we can complete the top.

9. Take a nap - you worked hard.

Project #2: The "Just Married" Sign

I bought a 6 foot piece of wood from Home Depot. My wood was 1 inch thick and 5 1/2 inches wide. My FI cute the wood in half for me and then we used a compass to round off the corners. We sanded them down and then were good to go. I used a white acrilic paint. It took about 4 coats to completely cover both sides.

Tracing: I have to thank Steffy3217 from the NH Board. She suggested printing out the  "Just  Married" and then use a pencil  covering the back side of the printout with lead. Once finished flip the printout over and trace the lettering onto the wood. It worked perfectly! (Hard to see in the picture)

NH Knottie Ninnypooper and I had a great time painting the signs and making a mess of my kitchen table.

So very happy with the finished products!
